Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Bubbas (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Bubbas mobile application and the teambubbas.com website (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of Bubbas collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you use the Service.

This policy is intended to cover the data practices that support our App Store privacy disclosures. If those store disclosures differ from this policy, contact us so we can correct the inconsistency.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information, including email address, display name, and login method.
  • Dog and household profile information, including dog name, breed, age, sex, photos, goals, problem areas, owner context, and household members.
  • Training activity, including plans, selected skills, session notes, progress, reminders, check-ins, completions, and training wins.
  • Photos, videos, audio recordings, and related metadata that you choose to capture or upload for onboarding, memories, training, voice input, or support.
  • Chat messages, prompts, transcripts, and other text you send to AI or coaching features.
  • Support, feedback, press, partnership, and privacy-rights communications you send to us.
  • Subscription status and purchase identifiers. Payment card details are processed by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or the applicable payment platform and are not stored by Bubbas.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and app information, such as device type, operating system, app version, language, region, network status, and diagnostic metadata.
  • Usage analytics, including screens viewed, features used, events, session timing, subscription funnel events, and household-level product activity.
  • Crash reports, performance logs, error traces, and debugging information.
  • Device identifiers and attribution identifiers where available and permitted, including identifiers used for subscription management, fraud prevention, campaign measurement, and install attribution.
  • Push notification tokens and notification permission status if you enable notifications.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain, personalize, and improve the Service.
  • Create and update dog training plans, recommendations, and progress tracking.
  • Operate AI coach, breed detection, transcription, summary, and content features.
  • Store and stream photos, videos, memories, and training media you choose to use.
  • Authenticate accounts and support Apple, Google, and email sign-in.
  • Process subscriptions, trials, purchases, restores, entitlements, and refunds.
  • Send service messages, reminders, support replies, and account notices.
  • Measure product performance, campaign performance, and feature usage.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, and errors.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Service Providers and Sharing

We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose information to the following categories of service providers and partners so they can provide services to us or to you:

  • Cloud, database, and authentication: Supabase and related hosting services store account, household, training, media, and authentication data.
  • AI services: Google Vertex AI / Gemini processes selected dog profile context, messages, photos, transcripts, and prompts to provide AI coaching, breed detection, article, reflection, and planning features.
  • Subscriptions and payments: RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play help manage subscriptions, purchase identifiers, entitlements, trials, billing status, and restore flows.
  • Analytics and product measurement: PostHog helps us understand app usage, onboarding, subscription flow performance, and feature adoption.
  • Attribution and campaign measurement: Singular helps measure app installs, campaign performance, and subscription funnel events. Where required, we ask for platform tracking permission before using identifiers for tracking.
  • Error monitoring: Sentry processes crash reports, errors, diagnostic metadata, and performance information.
  • Video hosting: Mux stores and streams training videos and memories you choose to upload.
  • Platform services: Apple, Google, Expo, APNs, and FCM may process device, notification, sign-in, billing, and store-review data needed for mobile app delivery.
  • Household members: if you join or create a household, household members can access shared dogs, training activity, memories, media, and AI coach context within that household.
  • Public display: if you choose to submit or approve a public training win, we may display the submitted text, dog context, display name, and related non-sensitive details on teambubbas.com or in marketing.
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

5. Tracking, Ads, and Measurement

Bubbas does not show third-party ads in the app. We may use install attribution, campaign measurement, product analytics, and subscription analytics to understand which campaigns and features are working. Depending on your location and platform settings, sharing identifiers or event data with attribution partners may be considered “sharing” or “tracking” under applicable privacy laws or store policies.

You can limit tracking by denying Apple App Tracking Transparency permission, changing your device privacy settings, or contacting [email protected].

6. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

  • Account, household, dog, training, chat, and media data are kept while your account is active.
  • Account deletion requests are normally processed promptly, with backup copies expiring on normal backup cycles.
  • Billing, subscription, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal records may be retained as required by law or platform policy.
  • Support communications may be retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is needed to resolve a dispute or comply with law.
  • Analytics and diagnostic data may be retained in identifiable form for up to 24 months, then deleted, aggregated, or de-identified.

8. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your account in the Bubbas app from Settings → Delete Account. You can also request deletion through our account deletion page or by emailing [email protected]. Account deletion is permanent and removes the account profile and associated personal training data, subject to limited retention for legal, billing, fraud-prevention, security, and backup purposes.

If you are the owner of a household with other members, the app may ask you to transfer ownership or remove members before deletion so shared household data is handled correctly. If you cannot complete that flow, contact support and we will help process the request.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

10. California Privacy Notice

California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. As described above, we may share identifiers, internet or electronic activity, commercial information, and analytics events with attribution or measurement partners in ways that may be considered “sharing” under California law.

To submit a California privacy request or opt out of sale/share, deny platform tracking permission, adjust device privacy settings, or email [email protected].

11. Children’s Privacy

Bubbas is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Users under 18 should use Bubbas only with involvement of a parent or guardian.

12. International Transfers

We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email.
